Awesome Express is a dynamic group of young musicians, ages 14-17, from MetroWest Boston, that will tear the roof off of any venue with their enthusiasm, musicianship and energy.  The members of Awesome Express include Charles Winston, age 14, lead vocals & keyboard, William Maranci, age 15, drums, Charles Coleman, age 16, guitar & vocals, Chris Smith, age 17, bass.  The boys came together in late 2009 through the local non-profit teen band program “Plugged In,” which places teens together for 10 weeks to make music and use their music to help others.  After just a short time of playing together, they realized that they had something special.  They entered a battle of the bands and won.

Awesome Express is passionate and dedicated about bringing back the classic sound of rock and roll from the ’60’s and ‘70’s, and are influenced by Led Zeppelin, Styx, and Queen.  Performing original music and classic cover songs, they bring audiences to their feet.  In addition to performing at many charitable and local events, they have performed at noteworthy venues such as: The Boston Hard Rock Cafe, Ryles Jazz Club, Johnny D’s, The Center for the Performing Arts in Natick, The Sad Café, The Boston Common, Harvard Square Music Festival, The Raven and the Joan Norton Stadium..
