Four Livingston area teens are attracting attention these days all around southern Michigan. Their original music is as unique and hard hitting as the band’s name, Bulletproof Snow http://www.bulletproofsnow.com.

Playing more than 20 shows in the 4 months since the band started performing; Bulletproof Snow is raw, edgy, and talented way beyond their years. The band is: Trey McLaughlin – Lead Vocals/Guitar, Jake Yacobelli- Guitar/Vocals, Matt Coon – Bass, and Connor Cheney – Drums. Off to a very quick start, these 15 and 16 year olds are already leaving lasting impressions in music circles near and far.

Bulletproof Snow came to life because founder Trey McLaughlin refused to take no for an answer. Living in rural (and teenage band starved) Hartland, MI, 13 year old Trey searched long and hard to find teens of similar talent and commitment. Despite several disappointments, including short stints in four other bands, Trey stayed the course and continued searching, determined to form his own band. Watching his son’s long struggle, Trey’s father even once joked about relocating the family to support his son’s quest.

After discovering band mates Yacobelli and Coon in December 2011, the only remaining obstacle was a drummer. A full band was finally assembled in late March 2012 with the addition of drummer Connor Cheney (Milford, MI). Now the real journey could begin and the band began playing shows almost immediately.

Bulletproof Snow currently performs on a regular weekend schedule around metro Detroit and Ann Arbor and is entering the studio in September to record their 1st demo. In a few short months, the band has built an extensive repertoire of both covers and originals. Their list of accomplishments is building fast and includes winning “battle of the band” competitions, playing in many established area venues, and playing several large festivals. Some of these are Labadie Pig Gig – Bay City, Sparks in the Park – Milford, and River Raisin Festival – Blissfield.

Amazing fans with “larger than life” musicianship and profound songwriting ability their successes already exceed those of bands that have been working in the business for years, even decades. Trey’s mature writing style produces hard hitting and energetic originals that fans and the band can’t get enough of. Bulletproof Snow’s popularity is increasing at light speed with each live performance. The band’s followers even include some nationally known musicians, such as members of the legendary rock band Skid Row.

In their spare time, the band has also performed at many events in support of those in need, including Boys and Girls Club of America, Veterans of Foreign Wars, and Project iAm (children’s autism). They also find time to support other local musicians and to mentor other child musicians.

Proud to hail from an area with such a famed musical history, the band aims to add their name to the long list of nationally known talent that has come before them. They are determined to be the next big thing rising up from Metro Detroit/Flint.
