Hailing from that great Dixie state of Tennessee in Knoxville, ERGO WE PLAY was School Jam USAs 2011/2012 third place winners, along with receiving best vocalist award.  Since the January contest, EWP has improved substantially as a band, by playing events and gigs almost weekly, relentless rehearsals, and writing and recording a host of fresh new songs.  They have also tighten up and rounded out their live sound by adding a new lead guitar player…taking the trio to a 4 man power house of a band.
The band mates include Alex Zimmermann (lead vocals, guitar and keyboard, Sam Travis (bass and backup vocals), Tommy Blackburn (drums and backup vocals), and our new lead guitar player Thomas Detchemendy.  EWP has been a band now for over 2 years.  You can hear their music played on Knoxville’s local rock station “94.3 The X.  The band gets its inspiration for their songs from the good, the bad and the ugly relationships and experiences they have in their lives.  Two of the band members attend Farragut High School with one a recent graduate this year, while the other attends Rhea County High School. 
So EWP is back this year, stronger than ever, a fuller tighter band with an even greater set of new songs, rock videos and live performances you will love.
