Studio 7 is a 4-piece band of 15 and 16 year olds from the New York suburbs. We--Brian Frei (bass), Matteo Scher (piano/), Paul Miele-Herndon (vocals/) and Noah Graham (drums/)-- have known each other since kindergarten. After years of being together in a school where music is a central part of our education, we came together for a school performance in April 2012.  The performance led us to being noticed outside of school for the first time, and we filmed a short feature for TV shortly thereafter. In September, after a summer-spent recording, Studio 7 released their first 5 song EP. We put our songs on www.bandcamp.com, and in the first few weeks had over 1110 plays and 125 downloads. Our self-titled album has catchy riffs, upbeat songs, and slower, sadder ones for when your day just seems too blue to fix...our apologies if that's the case. The songs show our all-encompassing enthusiasm for music. What makes Studio 7 unique is that, unlike the many bands out there that rely on guitars, we use the piano, which allows for more intricate chords and gives the band a sound somewhere, but not exactly, near Keane. With no guitar pyrotechnics to focus on, Studio 7 instead focuses on chemistry, harmony, and rhythm. The whole album was originally composed, recorded, produced, and mastered by us, using only Matteo's Mac and Paul's mike. Sure, it's a little raw but it works! (At least we think.) We are currently working on putting out our first full-length album.
